The Process engineer dr.ir. Niels Deen from Twente starts this year at the Chemical Technology faculty at the TU/e. The European Research Council (ERC) has appointed to him a Starting Grant of one and half million euro’s.
The 21st International Symposium on Chemical Reaction Engineering (ISCRE 21) will be held in Loews Philadelphia Hotel, Philadelphia during June13-16, 2010. The theme of ISCRE 21 is: CRE: Addressing resource sustainability, environmental and life science challenge. The symposium will feature 6 plenary lectures, over 100 oral presentations and nearly 150 posters. The symposium is now open for registration and lodging reservation. Prof Hans Kuipers received in October a prestigious European ‘ERC Advanced Grant’ of 2.5 million Euros, which will be used to attract some 8 PhD students and for large investments in equipment. This grant allows the group to work on multi-scale modeling of mass and heat transfer in dense gas-solid flows.
